Illustrations for Code for America FormFest talk (2024)

digitally scanned ink drawings

I conceptualized and created illustrations to bring to life the experience of three key characters in a presentation by my coworkers at MO Studio. I consulted with the presenters about what story we were trying to tell about veterans and the staff who provide benefits to those veterans.

With the speakers' direction, I designed the characters Rita, James, and Namita to represent people who are impacted by poor service design at the Department of Veterans Affairs. My illustrations depict these characters' emotional experiences through the ups and downs of their journey.

Treehugger (2021), B.F.A. Senior Thesis

performance, site-specific installation, & collaborative mail art project

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I drew inspiration from daily reflective walks and a dead tree. Curious about my peers' relationships with their environment, I developed a collaborative multimedia project—involving recycled handmade paper and the mail—to explore how we each reflect on nature, community, and recovery.

I also made an interactive webpage as a follow up to this project—Check it out here!

Sustain - an Internet of Things project (2022)

video

I co-scripted, co-directed, and edited this mock fundraising video for a food justice program which I designed with two classmates for the city of Pittsburgh.

It was fun to use public bus stops and office supplies to bring this concept to life. My favorite part to make was the paper vending machine, which I drew by hand.
